GENERAL

This is the official web site of the American Academy of Religion, a professional association of teachers and research scholars, dedicated to furthering knowledge of religion and religious institutions in all their forms and manifestations. Includes useful tools such as course syllabi, online articles, and various teaching resources.
According to the description, "this collection contains over 4000 scriptural passages from 268 sacred texts and 55 oral traditions, and is organized in terms of 164 different themes. This text is the result of a five-year project involving the collaboration of an international team of 40 recognized scholars representing all the major religious traditions of the world. This archive contains the complete text of the original hardbound version."
Presents information resources for the study and interpretation of religions and includes the following sections: Religious Traditions, Religious Studies Programs, Religious Experience, Religion and Modernity, and Reference Sources.
This site is designed to advance research in matters of religion. It analyzes & highlights important content of religion-related web sites to speed research. Hyperlinks are provided not only to homepages but to major directories & documents within
Designed to assist teachers, scholars and general "seekers" who are interested in exploring religious issues. The aim is to develop an extensive library of resources, representing many different points of view, but all written from the perspective of sound scholarship. While the initial orientation has been to seek material written primarily from a Christian perspective, the ultimate aim is to broaden the scope to include material on all the world's major religions. Includes more than 5,100 chapters, monographs, speeches and articles on line.

BIBLE CONCORDANCES, COMMENTARIES, LEXICONS, ETC.

The Bible Gateway is a tool for reading and researching scripture online in multiple languages and Bible versions. It provides advanced searching capabilities, which allow readers to find and compare particular passages in scripture based on keywords, phrases, or scripture reference.
This web site allows searching for both keyword phrase as well as specific book and verse.  The site also allows the user to simultaneously see the interlinear Hebrew / Greek (including the Septuagint) and choose one of nine English versions as well as the Latin Vulgate.

BUDDHISM

Edited by Dr T. Matthew Ciolek (The Australian National University, Canberra, AU), Prof. Joe Bransford Wilson (U. of North Carolina at Wilmington) and Privat-Dozent Jerome Ducor (Ethnographic Museum, Geneva, this site keeps track of leading information facilities in the fields of Buddhism and Buddhist studies.

CHRISTIANITY

This site is characterized by its creators as "a hub for locating serious Christian theological activity on the Internet," and indeed it is exactly that. The table of contents includes: Christian Theological Societies, Fellowships, and Associations; Christian Theological Pages by Tradition; Particular Theologians' Works and Discussions of Interest to Christian Theology; Theological Libraries; and other areas of interest.

HINDUISM

Provides links to some Hindu-related sites.

Provides access to a large number of Hindu web sites dealing with such varied subjects as Women, Marriage and the Family, Spiritual Tourism, and many others.  One word of caution--this web site employs pop-up advertising.


ISLAM

This web site offers links to many Islamic Internet resources on subjects ranging from the Qu'ran to Islamic History to Muslims and the Media, etc.

Hosted by the University of Georgia Virtual Center for the Interdisciplinary Studies of the Islamic World, this web site offers resources for the study of Islam as well as the many perspectives of Muslims around the world.

Provides links to some Islam-related sites.


JAINISM

A useful and comprehensive listing of Jain-related web sites compiled and maintained by Yashwant K. Malaiya, professor of Computer Science at Colorado State University.

JUDAISM

Provides pointers to web-based information/data of interest to Jews and Judaism.  The topic areas include Israel, Jews Around the World, Jewish Music and Art, Judaism on Campus, and the Shoah.

This web site, maintained by Andrew Tannenbaum, seeks to coordinate all the Jewish information across the Internet.  The site is quite comprehensive and highly useful.


RASTAFARIANISM

Provides links to some Rastifarian-related sites.

An interesting, very eclectic and somewhat eccentric site that leads the user to many useful web sites dealing with various aspects of Rastafarianism.

TAOISM

Combines a basic introduction to Taoism with it's relationship to the practice of Tai Chi.

ZOROASTRIANISM

Presents a modest compilation of web links related to the study and interpretation of Zoroastrianism.
