Thank you for submitting an employment application to Park Library.

*** If hired, you will need your actual Social Security Card. To prevent any delay in processing your hire paperwork or starting your job, please have this card on campus with you. If you do not have a card, please apply for a duplicate now. The Social Security Administration office is located in Mt. Pleasant at 1940 Sweeney Street, off W. Broomfield (ABC Warehouse). International students who do not have a Social Security Card need to check with the International Education Office in UC 106, and follow their instructions. *****

If you have been awarded College Work Study funds as part of your financial aid package, please check that area on the application and list the amount, if known. If you are not sure about Work Study eligibility, please check with Campus Student Employment in UC 206.

  • Only one application is necessary to be considered for any job opening within the Library. Our department supervisors use the applications kept on-file for each semester to fill their job vacancies.
  • We do not post job openings unless we do not have applicants that meet the job requirements, therefore you must have an application on-file.
  • Since your application is valid for all job openings, in all departments, you will not be contacted unless it is for an interview. If contacted for an interview, the specifics of the department and the job will be explained at that time.
  • As one of the larger student employers on campus, we need to fill our positions as fast as possible. This is why we hire from applications on-file. We cannot give specific information about job openings or hiring status because they open and fill too quickly. Once your application is on-file, then you must wait.
  • Although the bulk of our hiring is done prior to, and during the beginning of the semester, we are prepared to hire at any time and we do keep the applications for the entire semester. If you remain interested please contact this office, using e-mail, if there is any change in the information submitted on the application.
  • We keep employment applications on-file for one semester only. You must submit a separate application for each semester as soon as your classes are scheduled for that semester. It is best to get your application in as early as possible. Summer applications should be submitted as soon as you know you will want summer employment or, if you are taking classes, as soon as classes are scheduled. Fall and Spring applications with class schedules omitted will not be considered.
