- Introduction
Scholarly Journals
A
scholarly journal is a collection of articles written by scholars
in an academic or professional field and geared toward the researcher,
scholar or professional. Ususally, a panel of experts reviews all
articles sent to a journal and decides if they are important and
original enough to be published.
Scholarly journals:
• Contain long, in-depth
articles
• Contain bibliographies or lists of sources at the ends of articles
• Usually contain few photos and ads
• May or may not have the word “journal” in the title
