The marketing demographics resource guide provides information
about the sources you will use to complete the marketing demographics assignment.
The assignment focuses on sources used to find information about the population
to whom you want to market your product or service. You will look at three sources which are detailed below.
After you have finished reviewing the information in the resource guide you
can proceed directly to the market
demographics assignment or you can go to one or more of the guides listed
below.
American Factfinder is a source for
population, housing, economic and geographic data from the
U. S. Census Bureau. Information is taken from the dicennial census, economic
census, and periodic surveys updating this information.
Reference USA is an online directory, of national and local businesses,
purchased for use by CMU students, faculty and staff. You can conduct a quick
search or use the custom search option that allows for searching by additional
criteria. A company profile is included along with links to parent and subsidiary
companies.
MRI reporter is a detailed market survey of U. S. products. You can find
statistical data on who is purchasing specific types of products. The data is
arranged by date and product.
