![]()
The online marketing resource guide provides information about
the sources you will use to complete the online marketing assignment. The assignment
focuses on sources used to find information about the marketing of products
and services on the Internet. You will look at three sources
which are detailed below.
After you have finished reviewing the information in the resource guide you
can proceed directly to the online
marketing assignment or you can go to one or more of the guides listed below.
Centra is the CMU libraries catalog. It contains records for the materials physically held within the various CMU libraries, connections to subscriptions and other online sources purchased by the CMU libraries, and links to Internet sources judged to be helpful in conducting research. If you are not looking for a specific title or author, try using the keyword search option. You may be tempted to search by subject, but if you do, remember that you will then need to use a correctly worded subject heading. After you have retrieved the results of your search, you can further reduce the number of records buy clicking on the "limit this search" button. Then select the relavant criteria such as "material type" = videos.
WorldCat is a catalog of books and other materials in OCLC
member libraries worldwide. It offers millions of bibliographic records and
includes records representing 400 languages. To find a specific book search
for the title or author then limit your search to books.
ABI Inform is a database that the CMU libraries subscribe to that contains
abstracts of articles from over 1,800 periodical titles. In many instances the full text
of the article is also online within the database. The database points to articles
from international professional publications, academic journals, and trade magazines
. Search for your topic which will result in a list of one or more article titles.
To start the search, first break up the topic into its component concepts; i. e. children, ethics etc. To find out if an article is scholarly look at the tab that is highlighted just
above the list of titles.
