Display Case Policy
A. Bulletin Board
1. Libraries' General Policies

a.
|
In accordance with Central Michigan University policy,
all University buildings shall have at least one General Purpose
Bulletin Board located adjacent to the main traffic flow of that
building. |
|
b.
|
The University reserves a space 10" x 18" in the upper
left hand corner of the Library's General Purpose Bulletin Board
for the posting of official announcements. |
|
c.
|
Any person or group may place printed materials on the Library's
General Purpose Bulletin Board. Everyone should show courtesy
toward other potential users of the limited space. |
|
d.
|
A person may post only one piece of printed material on the
Library's General Purpose Bulletin Board at a time and must limit
the size of such printed materials to 22" x 28". |
|
e.
|
Each piece of printed material placed upon the Library's General
Purpose Bulletin Board must list the initial date of the posting. |
|
f.
|
Printed materials placed upon the Library's General Purpose
Bulletin Board will be removed after the event being announced
has taken place, or within 30 days after its initial posting,
whichever is sooner, so that other persons or groups may have
access to the limited Bulletin Board space. |
B. Display
Cases
1. Libraries' General Policies
| a. |
Display case reservations should be made at least
2 weeks prior to the display installation. A hold may be placed
on a case for 24 hours, after which time if no reservation is
made the hold will be released. |
| b. |
The requestor is expected to leave the display
case in the same condition in which it was found. All items
are to be removed by 5:00pm on the last day of the exhibit.
Failure to do so may result in denial of future privileges.

| c. |
Display cases are reserved in the order in which
requests are received. Consideration will be given to the size
of the exhibit and space available. Display cases may not be
reserved on a repeated or on-going basis. |
| d. |
The Libraries reserves the right to reassign or
cancel reservations to assure the maximum and most appropriate
utilization of its facilities. |
| e. |
The Libraries provides display space when appropriate,
but assumes no responsibility for the success of the exhibit. |
| f. |
No tape, glue, screws, or nails are permitted
on the walls. Velcro and thumb tacks are permitted. |
| g. |
The Libraries are not responsible for items lost
or stolen from the display cases. |
| h. |
Non-university groups requesting display case
reservations may be granted based upon their relationship/connection
to the University. |
2. Clarke Historical Library
| a. |
The Clarke Historical Library oversees the three
display cases along the eastern side of the main hallway. They
may be reserved by calling the Clarke Library (ext. 774-3352). |
| b. |
Two of the display cases are designated for research
projects. |
| c. |
One display case is designated for use by the
Clarke Library only. |
3. Park Library
| a. |
The Park Library oversees the three display cases
along the western side of the main hallway. They can be reserved
by filling out a reservation form at http://www.lib.cmich.edu/facilities/. |
| b. |
The Park Library has one display case designated
for campus organizations and/or groups. |
| c. |
Two display cases are dedicated for Park Library
use only. |
All groups using University space are expected to adhere
to the laws of the State of Michigan, all-local and federal laws,
and general policies, regulations, and guidelines of the University
Library and Central Michigan University. Failure to comply with
these regulations may result in forfeit of the privilege of utilizing
University facilities.
